Our lovely, well-prepared Toastmaster of the Evening <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mercury-toastmasters-berlin.de\/?page_id=25\">Friederike<\/a> presented the meeting theme: Great Beginnings. She recited verses from the poem,\u00a0<em>Steps,<\/em>\u00a0written by the German poet, Hermann Hesse:<br \/>\n&#8220;Und jedem Anfang wohnt ein Zauber inne,<br \/>\nDer uns besch\u00fctzt und der uns hilft, zu leben. &#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;For each beginning bears a special magic<br \/>\nThat nurtures living and bestows protection.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The first speaker <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mercury-toastmasters-berlin.de\/?page_id=25\">Matt<\/a> began his Toastmasters journey by delivering his Icebreaker entitled &#8220;Somehow&#8230; Some way&#8230; &#8220;. He told us five simple steps to finish a\u00a0100 mile race: denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance. We learned that he loves running, he has completed a lot of races, two of them being 100 miles long :)<\/p>\n<p>The second speaker <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mercury-toastmasters-berlin.de\/?page_id=25\">Nikolaos<\/a> delivered Project 2 from the CC manual. He told us about his passion: computers and technology. He did so by presenting the Raspberry PI mini-computer to us.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mercury-toastmasters-berlin.de\/?page_id=25\">Prateek<\/a> was the third speaker and he delivered the last speech of the CC manual entitled &#8220;One Person At A\u00a0Time&#8221;. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mercury-toastmasters-berlin.de\/?page_id=25\">Prateek<\/a> asked himself &#8220;What is wrong with the world today?&#8221;, &#8220;Why is there so much unhappiness&#8221;, &#8220;What are we doing wrong that young people need to take anti-depressives?&#8221;.
