{"id":2394,"date":"2015-02-23T09:17:25","date_gmt":"2015-02-23T09:17:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.mercury-toastmasters-berlin.de\/?p=2394"},"modified":"2015-02-23T09:31:07","modified_gmt":"2015-02-23T09:31:07","slug":"evaluation-workshop","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.mercury-toastmasters-berlin.de\/?p=2394","title":{"rendered":"Evaluation Workshop@Mercury"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Last Wednesday our VP Education, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mercury-toastmasters-berlin.de\/?page_id=25\">Wendy<\/a>, held a wonderful workshop on evaluation. She led us on our journey to become Evaluation Mavens.<\/p>\n<p>After a quiz, she told us about the three levels of listening. When entering the evaluator skin, we need to be a type three listener. This means listening fully and creating empathy with the speaker.<\/p>\n<p>Afterwards, she presented the Evaluation Maven Manifesto 2.0, created by <a href=\" http:\/\/www.ewoliving.com\/toastmastersEMM.php\">Rodney Denno<\/a>, coach, trainer and founder of EWOL Training &amp; Development. Basically, it is a set of suggestions and guidelines on how to create and structure an evaluation.<\/p>\n<p>Throughout the workshop we had, of course, some practical exercises. First, we did an exercise on listening. Second, we listened to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mercury-toastmasters-berlin.de\/?page_id=25\">Prateek<\/a>&#8216;s and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mercury-toastmasters-berlin.de\/?page_id=25\">Frederike<\/a>&#8216;s speeches. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mercury-toastmasters-berlin.de\/?page_id=25\">Renko<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mercury-toastmasters-berlin.de\/?page_id=25\">Petronela<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mercury-toastmasters-berlin.de\/?page_id=25\">Prateek<\/a>, and I evaluated a speech and afterwards received feedback on our evaluations from all the participants. Each of us could choose the evaluation technique we wanted.
